DESCRIPTION:Come and listen as Helen Davis talks about Bears and Bear habitat which she has studied on Vancouver Island for over 30 years\, documenting more than 150 dens. Her work focuses on protecting bear denning trees\, which are essential for female bears and their cubs during the winter denning period. Her research and advocacy efforts have been crucial in addressing the “housing crisis” faced by coastal black bears\, who rely on large\, old trees for denning sites.
