Cowichan Watershed Board Meeting

November 30 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm

Want to learn more about what’s happening in the Quw’utsun/Cowichan Watershed? Come observe one of the Cowichan Watershed Board’s monthly Board meetings! Our Board meetings are held on the last Monday morning of each month and are open to our community. At them, you’ll get the chance to see our unique collaborative governance model in-action, while also learning more about current watershed issues and initiatives from subject matter experts and people working on-the-ground.

Agenda, Board Package, and location details for our November meeting will be available soon. See here. The Board meeting will be held from 9am-12pm. Attendees are welcome to come at 8:30am for coffee, tea, snacks, and chats with our Board and staff members prior to the meeting.

More about the Cowichan Watershed Board: The Cowichan Watershed Board is a collaborative governance partnership between the Cowichan Tribes First Nation and the Cowichan Valley Regional District. Guided by our 5 Principles and 8 Targets for whole-of-watershed health, we come together to protect and enhance the health of the Quw’utsun/Cowichan Watershed, including the Xwulqw’selu/Koksilah sub-basin. Our work is He’lit tu qa’ syaays – bringing water back to life respectfully. What we do is only a fraction of our community’s work to steward and safeguard our watershed. At its heart, our role in this work is to convene in the spirit of the Quw’utsun teaching Mukw’ stem ‘o’ slhilhukw’tul – everything is inter-connected. We help to bring together a community of collaborators by looking for places we can lift each other up, pool resources, share knowledge, and strengthen relationships to allow us to work better together for the good of our shared home.
