Miyawaki Restoration Method

Kiki Nursery’s expertise in ecological restoration will use Wildwood Ecoforest as an intact forest setting to help participants observe natural layering, soil conditions, and ecosystem interactions. Begining with a short guided walk through Wildwood Ecoforest where these ecological processes will be explored in their context, we’ll explore how to bring these forest principles into urban environments to revive degraded spaces, lawns, and compacted soils. You will be introduced to core principles, including soil restoration, dense planting of diverse native species, and early-stage maintenance, with an emphasis on locally appropriate materials and realistic timelines for establishment and growth.
